The Paramount Theatre is offering a fantastic field trip opportunity for Austin area 6th grade students on October 4th, 2016!  In partnership with The Nobelity Project, the historic theatre will be screening the award-winning documentary “Building Hope”, our powerful film about a child’s right to an education.  Following the 35 minute film, students in attendance will participate in a LIVE Skype call with students at Mahiga Hope High School in Kenya!

The event brings to life many 6th grade Social Studies TEKS, in addition to reinforcing many of AVID’s empowering messages to students.  We would love to fill the audience with as many of your students as possible, for this unique event

Sign up to attend soon! Space is limited!

More about the film: Through challenges and triumphs, Building Hope chronicles the construction of Mahiga Hope High, the first high school for this remote African community, and the connection between a thousand people in the U.S. and an African community working to create a better future for their children.
